It sometimes happens that the earth sits comfortably beneath me, that I am supported with ease and grace, that sunlight is unencumbered by clouds.
Yes, these things happen, and more often than we may notice.
I am reminded of this as I wander through a room with haphazard piles of things in various states of disrepair, yet not so far-gone as to be unusable. I stumble over stuff and I mask my discomfort. And then I notice the folding chairs, a riot of color and texture amidst the confusion.
And I wonder whether seeing this moment clearly has changed how I see what often feels like visual chaos. Can reminding myself that there is balance and beauty in all things help us to glide more easily through what had seemed like obstacles?
It sometimes works that way.
