This is a time of opening and birth and possibility, of newness and endless examples of opportunity. This can be a blessing: we can relish the air's coolness and the stout breezes because they invite us toward light and warmth even when that isn't what we feel at this moment.
We are adept at reading the hints our world gives us hints of what is coming. So we often fall into anticipation. We learn to see the cues, the bud hinting at the flower. And we experience a yearning forward as we play with changes both subtle and gross.
So how are we to maintain ourselves at this moments without shifting our attention to what is coming rather than what is here now?
I've been playing with reflections. Upside-down and backwards, they can represent an inverted and enigmatic analogy, bringing us to an alien, yet curiously familiar world. By jumping into this confusion, we may gain the time required to remind us to slow down and enjoy what is present now, without yearning forward. Try it!
