The air was brisk and the clouds came in slowly throughout the morning. Yet it was early spring warm and the fresh aroma of melting earth was enough to bring a smile.
My usual walk around the Pond - this time, though, as the days get longer and warmer, there were so many people. It's such a blessing to be surrounded by this diversity - all ages, colors, languages, walking, running, fast, slow. It is delicious.
And of course, the ever present island. Who ever thought to add that element to the Pond? Was it Olmstead, who designed this park as part of Boston's "Emerald Necklace?" Bless whomever it was. Surrounded by water, this little slip of land is framed and thus can serve to reflect whatever is present, whatever the weather, internal or external.
So there it is. Someday I will do a show of just shots of this island. For now, I use it to reflect on my pleasure in walking outdoors.
