Yesterday was a fruitful day for capturing images. Julianna had a long and wonderful visit with a friend and I gallumphed around Jamaica Pond. The results first showed up in yesterday's entry and now I am sharing the reflection I mentioned in that post. I know there's more to say than this image captures and I imagine that one day I'll look back and feel like this is quite primitive. Today, though, I'm happy with it. Imagine seeing the world in reflection - in both senses of that word.
What's important: the ability to move back and forth, to play with figure and ground, upside/downside, the whole range of different ways to see. That's the opportunity that I'm feeling into with this shot. I want to convey the sense of adventure in this, the sense of exploration that goes beyond this particular image or even the series that may emerge from this. What I love about art is the ability (willingness?) to seek beyond what the eyes see - to see with the heart or even higher.
So, let's see what emerges.
